Sree Narayana college of Technology, Kollam – The technical Campus located in Kollam District of Kerala, was established in the year 2003, an affiliated institution for universities. This establishment is contained in a small piece of land measuring only 3.17 acres, and was established over two decades ago to produce wisdom in young people. The college provides education in numerous faculties with an overall of 5 courses and degrees to be provided to the trainees. At present SNCT Kollam has strength of 398 students for which 21 members of faculty work efficiently. The following facts that speak for college concentration on quality assurance could be said: the college aims at providing education in such fields as technology, commerce, and life sciences and offers the specialisation in Computing Technology, Biotechnology as well as Finance. Sree Narayana college Kollam has several facilities that cut across academic disciplines that help to improve the performance of the students. Information technology is another remarkable aspect of the college; the college has a computer laboratory fitted with networked Pentium IV computers and internet connection. Students can access these facilities from 8:Student activity is enabled from 00 AM to 5.30 PM under faculty supervision meaning that students have ample time for practice and research. The library popularly as the institution livewire is perhaps one of the best stocked modern facility with over eight thousand books and new technological compendiums, CD’s and various journals among other literature. Open from 8:It is open from 00 AM to 5:30 PM for students’ academics endeavours as well as self-study during weekdays. To enhance the students’ intellectual development for formal academic debates and to promote guest lectures, the college possesses a seminar hall called the seminary hall that invites industry leaders and other personalities to share a wealth of knowledge other than what can be taught in classes. Sree Narayana College of Technology comprises a total of 5 courses being offered in the college, and all the courses they offer are of full time mode. These are three under graduate and two post graduate programmes and as such they cover a wide range of areas of interest from the academic prospective and from the prospective of career paths. College offers total intake capacity of one hundred twenty students for all courses which would help in maintaining the right student faculty ratio. Though specific graduation data for the latest year is missing, the education provided at the college is largely vocationally oriented with a close focus to skills that are tailored to the workforce need with the objective of boosting employment rates of the students after graduation. The admission procedure of Sree Narayana College of Technology is very simple and enables students to concentrate on other activities. The college provides numerous programmes such as BCA , BBA, M.Sc in Biotechnology and so on, in order to meet the students’ needs for different subjects. SNCT Kollam, we know how diverse education is and how a good education has to be all rounded. The college also has the hostel for boys and girls with a seating capacity of nearly 100 students each. These well-constructed and decorated hostels are featuring canteen and lounge with study rooms, which make the students to live comfortably in order to have effective writings. Every Hostel has a warden who supervises students’ discipline and also takes care of the students.
