Established in 2016, SBS College of Pharmacy in Barnala has focused on the issue of developing pharmacy professionals of Punjab, India. Established in Mehal Kalan, Barnala on Raikot Highway-13, the college is an affiliated college that functions under PCI and AICTE acknowledgment. SBS College of Pharmacy is located on a very small area of 2 acres; it is still in the growing phase of development with an intake capacity of 117 students and 8 faculties. The college has only one main course, which is the Diploma in Pharmacy [D.Pharma] for which intake has been approved to be sixty students per annum. Currently the college has functional laboratory equipped with complex equipment required for pharmaceutical studies such as tablet disintegrant test apparatus, tablet making machines, ampoule filling and sealing machines and friability testers among others. This, for instance, comprises practical sessions in various formulations as well as experiments in these labs since the provision of the Indian Pharmacopoeia standards is vital when students start their careers. Furthermore, SBS College of Pharmacy has developed good IT facilities since the role of technology is critical in the current learning and research activities. SBS College of Pharmacy is at present faculty dedicated to providing a solo programme and that is the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma). This is a full time programme that takes for two years with the aim of producing students with acknowledging education in pharmaceutical science.
