RSD College Firozpur city is a well known institution, founded in 1921 in the state of Punjab, India. This co-educational affiliated college, as approved under National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), has opened the door for 19 courses in 12 degree programmes. Located in a large 5-acre land the RSD College has total number of students as 1,847 and total 69 faculty members. It is through such a focus that the college has developed a wide range of programmes of study that cuts across commerce, arts, sciences, and information technology. It is the policy of RSD College to have modern facilities with intention of improving better learning environment for the students. The college boasts of a modern library containing more than fifty four thousand, four hundred and thirty seven books and over three hundred and fifty journals and periodicals. Students also get to select the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (NLIST) Database. There are well equipped laboratories, a health centre and playing fields for game activities like hockey, football, cricket and volley ball among others. A new face you will find is the girls’ hostel which offers decent accommodation to female students who come from remote areas of the country. It also has an internet enabled campus, event/ seminar facility and a cafeteria for students and lecturers. The courses being offered at RSD College cover various fields of academic and knowledge interests, a total of nineteen courses. These are full time Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Applications. Offering a blend of conventional disciplining such as B.Com/ BA/ B.Sc and niche oriented ones like BCA, M.Com Accounting & Finance , and M.Sc Information Technology etc. Further, it The institution is affiliated to Karnatak University and offers combined B.Ed programs and vocational courses such as B.Voc. Software Development and Medical Lab and Molecular Diagnostic Technology. The entry requirements at RSD College however largely emphasises on performance in qualifying examination. In some programs that include M.Sc Information Technology and PGDCA, the admission is given based on merit because the universities are selective.
