Balbeer Singh Patel Memorial National College, christened as PMNC, was set in the year 1966 in Rajpura, Patiala, Punjab. Being an affiliated co-educational college located over an area of 11.75 acre, this college has been receiving accreditation programs from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). PMNC currently provides 21 modules available in 13 programs to 1911 students in total for its degrees. The college is staffed by 66 faculties, which again is an advantage for the establishment in terms of faculty-to-student ratio. PMNC, being one of the leading education institute in the fields of commerce, science, art and computer application, has always focused on quality education. The college boasts of a number of new facilities for the benefit of the learning college students. Students interested in technical and management disciplines have a wide range of information sources available since a departmental library of more than 3,000 specialized textbooks is provided. The college has invested in technology and its computer center has 150 Core2duo computers and internet connection throughout the day and night by leased line. The campus has Wi-Fi internet connection throughout the facility, which enables students to use internet freely. PMNC also encompasses a well-equipped modern gymnasium, playgrounds and an airy, fully air-conditioned multi-purpose dining hall where hygienic and healthy-quality meals are provided. Again for any cultural show or indoor games, the college has a multipurpose auditorium / gymnasium hall with a seating capacity of 500. Patel Memorial National College provides all the essential Bachelors as well as postgraduate degrees. The institute offers twenty-one courses, out of which full-time degree programs and postgraduate diploma courses are offered. The most liked courses done at an undergraduate level include B.Com , B.Com (Hons), BCA , BBA, B.Sc. specialised in different fields and B.A. However, at the postgraduate level of education, the college provides Master of Commerce, Master of Science in Information Technology and Mathematics, Master of Arts in English and Punjabi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Application. Overall approved intake for all courses is 1911, which guarantees that there will be enough spaces for the learners who wish to pursue their courses. Patel Memorial National College follows a major portion of the entrance exam-based system for most of its courses. For the undergrad courses such as B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, etc, admission is offered according to the merit list of the college. The PGDCA program also adopts the same process of merit-based admission.
