Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, Barnala, came into existence in 2006 and it is one of the leading colleges for the future of education system. This affiliated college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE. The college is located in a 3 acre campus and provide two professional course in education with a total student strength of 241. It has a team of faculty members of sixteen resulting into quality service delivery coupled with individual attention to each and every candidate. Guru Gobind Singh College of Education is responsible within looking after each aspect of the students, and aims to provide the best all-round learning environment with a number of facilities. The campus includes a functional library as the main source of information for prospective teachers. However, practical experiences involve the departmental laboratories of the college. Sporting activities are provided with sports grounds and gym for encouraging the students to balance their body and mind. The Guru Gobind Singh College of Education has designed two full time courses in education field. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), with an intake capacity of 100, is a professional course to equip students to be secondary and higher secondary teachers. The Diploma in Educatio n (D.Ed) course of this institution enrols 50 students training teachers for the primary and elementary level. Guru Gobind Singh College of Education aims in providing admission to fresh and deserving candidates who have an urge to pursuing the teaching profession. For the B.Ed programme, merit basis is followed and marks of the qualifying examination and entrance examination.
