The college offers two full-time postgraduate programmes in education: Bachelors Of Education (B. Ed) & Masters Of Education (M. Ed). The B.Ed programme admits 100 students and takes two years to provide a basic knowledge of teaching approaches and educational principles. The M.Ed programme admitted 50 students and is also a two-year programme of advanced study in educational leadership and research. Both programmes aim at preparing students with the competencies and the content knowledge for prospective practice in the area of specialisation. The total students number across all the courses offered is one hundred and fifty students More specifically, the college believes in quality provision of education by creating a point of focus on each student enrolled in the institution. Admission in GCTE is also based on merit because the institution holds the academic standards in high esteem. For the B.Ed programme, the admission is only on the basis of further marks scored in the qualifying examination and or an entrance test. The particular procedure for selection may differ depending on the state government permissible conditions, the union territory administration, or with the university. Likewise, for the M.Ed programme, candidates are offered admission based on merit, by taking into account the marks in the qualifying examination along with a test conducted by the University or it’s deemed affiliates or through any other mode as prescribed by the University from time to time.
