Affiliated college for Women’s College, Rayagada which was founded in 1982 is situated in Goutam Nagar, Rayagada, Odisha. This institution is located in a 6.27 acre land and is committed to the education of women. Currently, the college has a total enrollment of students, 638 and faculty members 11, the college provides a wide array of courses with special interest in arts. Women College Rayagada offer 9 programme which are spread under two batches of Bachelor of Arts (BA) to specialise in a variety of fields. This is even evidenced by the fact that the college provides focused education to women hence offering them specific programmes that will suite them. Women’s College has made provision in some facilities that would complement the learning of the students as well as their personalities. A proper equipped library is the storage of knowledge, meeting students’ interest with the number of books and materials. They report that their campus has faculty equipped with the newest IT facilities such as Wi-Fi (5mbps), so that students can use already mentioned Information Technologies in their learning. For the purpose of physical fitness and recreation within the college there are sports facilities and a gym. It also has well-equipped laboratories for practicals in virtually all the departments in the institution. There is an auditorium within the compound which is used in occasions, and seminars to support the university activities and general academic environment. Importantly, the college has a girls’ hostel that helps out-station students to find safe and comfortable accommodation. The campus has a cafeteria station for healthy snacks/ meals and a convenient store for the everyday use. The college also disability support services, a health centre that has a first aid facility to attend to any medical issues. Women’s College, Rayagada presently provides nine full time courses, each of which fall under the B.A. degree programme. These courses include a number of specialisations that offer unique study options to the student in humanities and social sciences. The BA Education Honours course has an intake of 40 students. The college mainly aims at offering quality programmes that lead to advanced learning in arts disciplines and offer training for employment or further training employment in humanities employment. Thus, the criteria of admission of students in Women’s College Rayagada are minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination along with strong emphasis on merit. These B.A. Honours courses include History, Political Science , Economics, English, Odia, Education, Home Science and Hindi, for which the college accepts applications. Also, a general play level BA programme is offered for those students interested in having a general arts education.
