Westbank School of Nursing, located in Howrah, was set in 2012 exclusively for imparting nursing education. At present, it is therefore a pioneer institute of West Bengal, INDIA. This co-educational institution is situated in Chunawti Andul Road, Howrah-711109. Since this has been approved by the INC, the course offered is more shot not only in West Bengal but also in India. Westbank School of Nursing is a small institution with a total enrolment of 89 students and 11 members of the faculty. The institute provides three specialised nursing programmes: a 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course and a one-year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing, and four years of B.Sc Nursing, which address different parts of the nursing career. The GNM programme takes three years, and the programme has an approved admission capacity of 30 students for each year of study. This course is one of the main courses offered by the institute, as it gives the students general knowledge on nursing and midwifery. The second programme is the Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing, which is offered for one year, introducing nurses to further and advanced knowledge in oncology nursing.
