The University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Warangal, the birth place of the phparmacy colleges in the country was established in 1974 is one of the leading constituent college for pharmacy education. Established in 1974, Osmania University College of Pharmacy the oldest and one of the premier pharmacy colleges in Telangana, situated at Vidyaranyapuri, Warangal. Recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and Pharmacy council of India, New Delhi it provides various courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels in pharmaceutical sciences. The college takes 380 students and 16 faculties, which ensure great learning conditions for future pharmacists and researchers. University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences possesses excellent and sophisticated facilities in a bid to provide the learners with brilliant environment in their learning practices besides their comprehensive development. The well stocked library is the crux of knowledge providing immense and comprehensive pharmaceutical literature and literature sources. Sophisticated chemical laboratories enable practical applications in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences and prepare students for the corresponding difficulties. Todate, the college also devote time to the sporting activities of the students, the college installed a gymnasium whereby the students are encouraged to take part in exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The campus also boasts of an event and seminar venue, alongside a centre for health to fix minor medical ailments for students. The college has IT facilities to support the learning methods and reasearch in the modern world which shows the college’s concern to embrace the new generation of technology. The University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences provides complete course that covers different areas of interest of the pharmaceutical sector. College offers seven full time courses where there is only one undergraduate course that is B.Pharma and six postgraduate courses which are M.Pharma with different specifications. The B.Pharma programme which constitutes the basic education in pharmacy has an intake of 60 students. Unlike other undergraduate degrees to which it offers specialised M.Pharma in Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology with a different intake capacity of between 12 and 18 students. This diverse course offering guarantees the students an opportunity to develop their specialisations of interest under the broad umbrella of pharmacy.
