University College of Education was established in 2014 as a constituent college. This college is a co-educational college and is located across a large area covering 96.27 acres. The college has two programmes in education with a total enrolment capacity of one hundred thirty and a total faculty strength of fifteen. The college is affiliated with Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry . Consequently, as a constituent college, it functions under the umbrella of Adikavi Nannaya University and offers education in the field of teaching and physical education. Its academic mission is evident in all the institute’s operations, especially in the way it trains teachers and develops an approach to sports. Several facilities are available at the University College of Education, as these belong to the most appropriate learning resources that can be offered to the students. For this reason, the college boasts of quality sports facilities that will ensure that every interested athlete has a place to practise and improve on his/her health. An auditorium is used in academics regarding a certain culture in the university or college and also helps in the co-curricular activities. School library is a valuable learning resource centre for students, and departmental laboratories are practical training stations for students. Availability of a health centre with first aid facilities guarantees some level of health in the students. It also has good computer facilities and other IT requirements compatible with the current college education. The canteen within the ministry, like human resources, is used to provide food and drinks to both the workers and learners. In addition, the institution has offered hostels for both the male and female students that cater to the needs of students who live in the institution’s hostels. The college has only two full-time courses , and they are education and physical education. The maximum number of students that were approved to take these programmes is ninety for the year. For the B.Ed programme there are 50 seats, and for the M.P.Ed programme there are 40 seats. These courses make students ready for the teaching profession and sports profession, respectively; it is in consonance with the institution being a centre of educational excellence. However, candidates who possess a Bachelor of Engineering or Technology, specialising in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, are also eligible to participate in these exams. The admission of the M.P.Ed programme involves a screening test, a fitness test, and an interview test with the percentage obtained in the qualifying examination.
