University College of Arts & Social Science is one of the constituent colleges of Osmania University, which is situated in Hyderabad, Telangana state. This university has been in existence for more than a century since its formation in 1919 with a core emphasis on arts and social sciences. The college makes available 24 unique courses under 3 degree programmes that focus on the humanities and social sciences fields. Out of the above staff strength, the faculty strength of this existing college has 42 dedicated faculties to guide the students. The college has 24 full-time courses, of which 23 courses are offered at the master’s level and contain a variety of disciplines. It comprises MA programmes in Areas like ancient history, Arabic, economics, English , Psychology among many others. The college also provides some professional programme like M.Lib.I.Sc. (Master of Library and Information Science) and MJMC (Master of Journalism and Mass Communication). The intakes to the University College of Arts and Social Sciences are mostly done through the Osmania University Common Entrance Test, abbreviated as OUCET. All the candidates seeking admission into any of these courses need to qualify for this entrance test, and they are admitted into the respective courses through counselling held by OUCET.
