Thus, we have Universal College of Education at Malda which started in the year 2012 to impart highest quality education in West Bengal, India. Located in Dharampur Mothabari this is a co-educational institution that has the task of forming the future of prospective teachers. The orthodox student intake per year is two hundred, faculty members are seventeen, which makes the student/teacher ratio optimal to provide individual concern and guidance. Currently, Universal College of Education, Malda has only one main course which is the Bachelor of Education . This is a two year full time course, with the aim of preparing students for teaching profession with essential knowledge and skills. The above B.Ed programme intakes are 100 for each year that prescribed by PCI and SPPU and depict the strength of the college in moulding a large number of prospective teachers in every academic session. This concentrated manner enable the institution to properly direct its resources and training in producing a quality teacher training programme. Universal College of Education follows an open and merit admission system keeping in view of the policies prevalent in the state as well as the university to which UC of E is affiliated to. Admission seekers are assessed by scores in the qualifying examination, entrance tests or other criteria as deemed by the authorities.
