St Xavier’s College of Education, Thanjavur, is a committed institute founded in the year 2005 and is aimed at maintaining the future of education. This co-educational college is set in the city of Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India, and the college occupies a large area of eight acres. The B.Ed. stream has a capacity of 100 admissions, while the M.Ed. programme has a total of 50 seats available. Its aim is to develop qualified, competent and professionally prepared teachers who are willing to make a difference in the area of specialised teaching. Admission to SXCET is given on the basis of merit, the marks which the candidates have scored in the qualifying or entrance examination. For the B.Ed. programme, the admissions are undertaken based on the policy of admission prescribed by the State Government/U.T. Administration and the University. The M.Ed. programme also does adopt a similar pattern while following the policies of the State Government, Central Government, University or UT administration whereverapplicable.
