St. Mary’s College of Education is a premier college which started in the year 2004 located at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India exclusive to the training of teachers. This co-educational college is set up at Seydunganallur and as an affiliated college hence it has got approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college has a five and thirty-eight bore campus and enrolled 55 students currently and 12 faculty members. St. Mary’s targets and specialises in delivering education with its B.Ed programme that produces teacher training professionals for the future. St. Mary’s College of Education has only the B.Ed programme exclusively for prospective teacher/trainers with a total intake of fifty students. This is a two-year full-time course intended at offering comprehensive preparation in theoretical and practical aspects of education. The curriculum of the programme will teach students everything they need for teaching in today’s classroom as per the requirement. The admission process of St. Marys College of Education is based on the marks of the qualifying and/or entrance test. The college is governed by the policies of the state government, Union Territory administration and the university, to which it is affiliated.
