SRV College of Education, Sivakasi

The SRV College of Education, located in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, India, was established in 2009; it is an affiliated college. It is a co-educational institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for promulgating quality standards in teacher education. Located on a small plot of 1.31 acres, the college guarantees a concentrated educational experience for future teachers. The total number of students admitted in SRV College of Education is 200; there are 11 faculties and that results in quality education for the students. The institution currently only has one degree programme, the B.Ed., which is a two-year full-course programme. Among its major amenities that offer support to the teaching and learning processes in the college are state-of-the art learning resources. The campus includes well-ventilated class rooms fitted with Wi-Fi internet, hence allowing for modern teaching and learning. A well-equipped library provides information that is essential to both students and members of the faculty. The college also currently has laboratories in order to enhance practical lessons in some fields. SRV College of Education offered certain co-curricular activities through which the students of the college can develop themselves in sports and games by providing sports and gym facilities. An auditorium is used for events, seminars, and other activities on the campus they occupy, as well as cultural activities. They are also able to enjoy some good food in the college canteen, where provisions for the special needs of the students and the staff are available. With amenities such as a first aid facility, a health centre in a college enhances the health of the community. From this area too, it is evident that the institution is a technological institution financially supporting and boasting of a very good IT department, which puts students on the right track towards the technological era in the transmission of education. SRV College of Education offers only teacher education and thus offers the B.Ed. programme with the approval of 100 students for the course. The focus of this approach enables the college to channel its resources and efforts to prepare professional teachers. The full-time course of B.Ed. spread over two years aims at providing the student with all the necessary academic and practical knowledge needed in the teaching profession. At present, SRV College of Education follows the management rule of admission norms prescribed by the UT administration, state government, and the university to which it is affiliated.
