One of the reputed institutes, Sri Sivani Institute of Technology, Srikakulam (SSIT), was started in the year 2006. This co-educational institute is spread over 11.1 acres of land in Chilakapalem Junction, Etcherla Mandal, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh. SSIT is an affiliated college with approval from AICTE, offering 15 courses in 4 degree programmes. With a faculty strength of 138 and a current enrolment of 17 students, SSIT is firmly committed to providing quality technical education in different branches of engineering and management studies. The infrastructure is simply astounding, including a host of facilities to make learning easier and the all-around development of students. The campus has well-equipped laboratories for each department, through which students are provided with hands-on practical exposure to complement their theoretical knowledge. A fully equipped library with a collection of 28,768 volumes, 4,676 titles, 816 volumes of journals, and 1,112 CDs serves as an enriching factor in academic pursuits. SSIT takes special care over the health and hygiene of its community. On campus is a health centre with a resident doctor who provides first-aid facilities round the clock. Gym facilities in both hostels, supervised by physical education instructors, are also available to the fitness enthusiasts among students. SSIT offers 15 courses in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels.
