Sri Sankara Arts and Science College is a self-financing, co-educational institution that was founded in 1991 in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated with Chennai University and is also an autonomous institution. Situated on the 14-acre land, the college is NAAC accredited and AICTE recognised. Despite a student population force of 5004 and a teaching force of 132, SSASC provides 22 courses under nine programmes. Over the years, gender distribution at the institute was almost equal, with 55% being male students, while the remaining 45% were female students, and 54% of postgraduate students were female. The college has a range of facilities to make sure that the student gets the best facilities in today's world. There are good laboratory facilities, smart classes and the library boasting more than 20,000 books and over 5,000 international journals. MBA, BBA , BA in English & Tamil , B.Com, B.Sc in all science groups and Master of Science in computer science , mathematics and physics. The MBA programme, one of the flagship courses of the university, has an approved intake capacity for sixty students.
