As for founding year, it cannot be mentioned, however, the institute has a clear profile of a pharmaceutical education facility. The Pharmacy council of India (PCI) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approve SGM Institute of Pharmacy so that it provides its programmes conforming to national standards. The institute has two programmes in the area of pharmacy to educate students who wish to pursue jobs in pharma companies. SGM Institute of Pharmacy has made available some important facilities to guarantee student’s learning and development. A good library is central to the knowledge area containing sundry sources of pharma literature and references accommodating the students. Furthermore, the college consists of departmental laboratories that are essential in the practical aspects of the programme. These labs can be best described as practical area through which the student gain practical exposure in different faculties of pharmaceutical sciences with focus on blending between knowledge and practice. SGM Institute of Pharmacy at present provides only two full time course in the stream of pharmacy. It offers a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma), a two-year course and the four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) course. The programmes both have an approved capacity of 60 students meaning there are 120 seats available for the two courses. They are intended as the programmes that give deep understanding of practical knowledge and skills necessary for students in the sphere of the pharmaceutic and readying students to take jobs within the sector.
