Peniel Rural College of Education, Dindigul

The college under the name of Peniel Rural College of Education is located in Dindigul and was started in the year 2007 and is a co-educational college specialising in the faculty of teacher education. This affiliated college sited in Vemparali near Chatrapatti, on the Madurai Natham Highway in the Tamil Nadu state has been NAAC accredited. The institute affiliated to the GGS IP University and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE provides B.Ed course with an intake of 100 students per year. This college currently has 43 students enrolled and thus has limited space, which contributes to builds close relations between the faculty and the students. Peniel Rural College of Education on the other hand, are instituted to support the learning process of the students in this college. A number of library facilities include a collection of textbooks and references, instructional CDs, and journals and magazines, available newspapers as well. Facilities include modern laboratories for language, sciences, educational technology, psychology and computers which support virtually all forms of learning. With respect to transport facilities, the college provides facilities of bus service which stop at some specific places to pick up the students. There is a canteen in the campus offering diet meals, tea, snacks and lunch. The college also focuses students’ health and safety offering a health centre with facilities for first aid and a gym for health and body building. Pineal Rural College of Education hence offers the B.Ed programme to ensure quality teacher education is achieved. This course is conducted as a full time course over two years and helps the students to build a good career in teaching. The college has demonstrated its emphasis on the all round development by availing for sporting facilities and an auditorium for games, entertainment besides other activities and events. Although the institute currently only has one degree programme, the approach taken to education means that the students are fitted with the best knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects.
