Olive Academy, Murshidabad

Olive Academy Murshidabad, run by Gram Bangla Educational Charitable Trust was established in 2014 at Raghunathganj, West Bengal. This institution being an NCTE recognised institution is a focus on delivering teacher education programmes. Olive Academy is affiliated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, Kolkata . Olive Academy focuses on shaping effective teachers. Olive Academy currently provides two full-time courses in education, which include Bachelors in Education programme (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Current demand for professionals in the education field has made it necessary for Olive Academy to offer academic programmes fitting this requirement. The B.ED , which is conferred after two-years, trains students for secondary as well as higher secondary instructing positions; on the other hand, the D.EL.ED programme for prospective teachers is for providing greater focus on primary and upper primary stages. Both of them are day-time, so the student can devote himself to his teacher training completely. Olive Academy has developed facilities that make learning easier for students in their academic learning processes. A library contains materials; that are collections and stocked supplies that are available for learning or research activity. For persons interested in physical activities there are places for sports activities to ensure balance between learning and play. It also has a departmental laboratory which is essential in skills development in teacher college education. Since there is an auditorium on campus, they organise events and seminars, so they enrich the student’s experience and environment. There is a cafeteria for the supply of food that students and staff require and a health centre with first aid for the college.
