Overview

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), which is also called NIRDPR Hyderabad is one of the prominent institutes in the country which solely focuses on Rural development and panchayati raj. It has been set-up in 2008 and is an institute belonging to the Government of India located at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana. Based on the research and its focus on the development of the rural poor, NIRDPR has received a nod from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Currently have 9 faculty memebers and provides post graduate specialised education in rural development management with a view to pro- vide trained programmes for the development of this important sector. Performing an assessment on this subject, one can identify numerous facilities at National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj that improve the teaching and learning processes for student. The institute embodies a central library which acts as a knowledge repository of sorts housing all manner of books, journals, newspapers and multimedia resources on every subject relevant to rural development. This large information resource base provides necessary instrumentation to convey a myriad of rural development information to a myriad of stakeholders. To facilitate the convenience of visiting participants and the participants of seminar, NIRDPR offers a host of good accommodation facilities in FOUR different guest houses - Himachal, Vindhyachal, Nilgiri and Aravali, totalling to 219 rooms. It particularly concentrates on professional courses in the field of Rural Development. PGDM -Rural Development Management is the key course offering of the institute, followed by the Diploma in Management. This course is an undergraduate course with a total capacity to take 60 students each year and is in line to prepare future leaders with skills and knowledge to foster sustainable rural development. The admission process of PGDM course of NIRDPR focuses on the selection of the candidates having zeal to work for rural development.
