The Nehru College of Education, Puducherry, was founded in 2005 at Villianur, Puducherry, and is a popular Teacher Training College. This co-educational institute enjoys the status of being affiliated with Pondicherry University and prepares future educators. As far as the curriculum is concerned, Nehru College of Education offers only one course, the B.Ed, which is a two-year full-time programme. The programme has the working capacity for the intake of one hundred students, which shows that the programme can train a large potential educator workforce. This specialisation gives the institution abilities to coordinate resources and efforts in providing quality teacher education.
