Lokmanya Tilak Education College was set up in 1971 is one of the well known institutions situated in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. This affiliated college recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides only teacher training. Founded on a small piece of land approximately 1.82 acres behind the Railway Station, the college provides a proper setting for evolution. The institution has a total registration of one ninety-one students and teacher ratio of thirteen; this optimum teacher student ratio is often very beneficial and as such students are assured of quality learning. Like any other college, the institution has several facilities that make the learning needs of the students better. The library, containing 8000 plus books along with Educational journals and Magazines are used in B.Ed. Curriculum. The institution has some of the most appropriate facilities such as good furniture, equipment in classroom, lab and well equipped IT facilities. For comprehensive growth of the students physically, academically and culturally, the college offers sports items, a gym and an auditorium for cultural activities and seminars respectively. The campus also contains a canteen, a health center complete with an aide station, and guest quarters for teaching staff and their relatives. At present, Lokmanya Tilak Education College runs only one full time course , the Bachelors in Education (B. Ed) course . This two year program has an approved intake of one hundred students which is an indication of this institution’s quality teacher education aspirations. Bducation hence the B.Ed course is intended to provide students with adequate knowledge and skills that enable them to flourish as educators.
