Jorhat Law College, which was founded in the year 1964, is one among the premier institutions in Jorhat, Assam. This affiliated college has been performing the task of shaping legal minds since almost six decades ago with the approved permission from Bar Council of India. Spread over a very small area of 1.65 acres, this campus accommodates an effective learning environment for 549 students enrolled in the institution. The courses of Jorhat Law College have been designed in relation to the modified requirements of future legal professionals. The college provides a three-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B Hons.). These would allow every student to be provided with complete legal education—theory and practice. The LL.B course has an approved intake of 120 seats, while the B.A. LL.B Hons takes on 60 seats while the total seats as a result sum up to 180. This rational and proper distribution will prevent one course from over- crowding but will rather have both courses going on with a small but attentive class of students.
