Jairupa College of Education is a Tiruppur based affiliated college founded in 2007 in Tamil Nadu-India. As its name suggests, this institution is devoted to the preparation of teachers, with both aspirant and advanced levels of study. Affiliated to Rayalaseema University and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE), Jairupa College of Education aims at creating future teachers. The college is spread on 60 acres of land that enrolls a total student strength of 300, and employs 26 faculty members. Jairupa College of Education has two distinct degree programs and the focus on full-time education making it a sole college for students who want to pursue teaching careers in the region. The college offers many services to ensure that they assist in the process of learning and personal development of their learners. This it has established the library unit as a central hub of the institute that provides a computerized system linked to the internet and reprographic services. It is well stocked with books, journals, and other educational materials and has issued National Digital Library user ID to each student. The college has also established well equipped laboratories such as the Educational Psychology Laboratory and Math Laboratory that are in a way meant to afford students practical experiences. Extra activities are provided for leisure in the form of an auditorium where events and seminars are conducted and there are sports for indoor and outdoor activities. There is an eating place known as canteen for snacks and a Health Centre where first aid can be administered on the campus. For easy access and to ease the transport of the day scholars and the residents of the rural areas, the college provides transport facility to many areas. Jairupa College of Education offers two main courses: a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education in Education (M. Ed) respectively. They are full-time programs each taking two years of study to complete the course. The B.Ed program has an approved intake capacity of 100 numbers and for the M. Ed program the intake capacity is 50 numbers. These programmes are meant to produce professional cadres to teach and administer schools in K 12 systems. The college has therefore decided to offer specialized focus on these two core programs in teacher training and educational studies. Admission to Jairupa College of Education is purely on merit, i.e the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. In case of the B.Ed program, admission is carried out accordance with the policy stipulated by the state government or UT Administration or university. The M.ED program also adopts the same process whereby the interested persons are offered admittance based on merit in accordance with the directions of the state government, university, or UT Administration.
