Government Polytechnic, Kodagu, is one of the prestigious technical colleges situated at Kodagu, Karnataka. This is supported by the realisation of the institute as a technical learning institution in the provision of five specialised diploma courses to address part of the technical engineering and technological education. The facilities provided at Government Polytechnic, Kodagu, are as follows, wherein the campus caters to students’ needs for their all-round development. The college is equipped with a library with all modern education and reference material that is useful for the students. The institute has maintained the concept of having departmental laboratories to enable students to put into practice what they have learnt in classes. The college has a strong information technology base; as such, students get to update on new technologies. For those who like some physical things, on campus there’s a sports complex which enhances balanced education. Also present in the institute are the hostels for the male and female students, who may prefer to live within campus premises, a comfort that the institute affords them. All these programmes are - Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering , Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering , Diploma in Automobile Engineering, and Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering – aimed at offering engineering students a platform for their respective disciplines of engineering. The total student enrolment capacity of the institute at present is 300, of which 60 are admitted to each course offered by the institute.
