Government Degree College, Shantinagar, was established in 2014, and affiliated to Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana. Located behind the new Police Station in Shanthinagar, Waddepally Mandal this institution occupies a 3-acre land. Currently the college has four courses B.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc Physical Sciences, B.Com Computer Applications and B.A for their students to pursue according to their field of passion. Having a total student enrolment of 243 and faculty of 11, the college ensures its students get adequate attention from the faculty. In light of its current status as a government agencies, it works toward achieving the mission of providing quality higher education for students from different background. The college has state of art infrastructure to facilitate diverse needs of the students to make their learning experience effective. The college has departmental based Laboratories to meet the practical session need of the students based on their departments. The institution has embarked on excellent information technology the institution has installed modem Wi-Fi in both students and staff. The courses offered by Government Degree College, Shantinagar, an affiliated College of Palamuru University, Mahboobnagar , are four full time undergraduate programmes . These are two B.Sc programmes ( Life Sciences and Physical Sciences), a B.Com programme with option in Computer Applications and a BA programme. All these courses take three years to complete. Although the number of seats for each program is not mentioned here, total intake capacity of the college is 243 and current total enrollment is also 243. This mean that the college has a set average of the number of students in the college, though it may mean that the college tries to limit the number of students to a manageable number per class or campus.
