Government College of Engineering Bargur was established in the year 1994. It is a government co-educational institute. The campus is spread over 50 acres of land. GCE Bargur is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Government College of Engineering Bargur is accredited by NAAC with a B grade. Government College of Engineering Bargur offers a total of 9 courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Admission to undergraduate courses will be based on the students performance in the 10+2 examination while for postgraduate courses, students have to appear for a TANCET examination.
