Dr Paul’s Engineering College, Villupuram (DPEC), occupies a position of fame and has continually strived to provide quality engineering education. This is an affiliated college that was started in 1998 in Pullichapalayam Village of Vanur Taluk, Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu. Stretching over the vast area of 11.62 acres, DPEC has been preparing the future engineers for more than 20 years. The college had a total enrolment of 279 students and a well-qualified faculty of 66 members. Dr Paul’s Engineering College offers students ample university resources that help improve the learning environment and student life. It has well-equipped laboratories in the college, which offer practical knowledge vital to the course’s delivery in engineering. The library is a resource centre where information to support a number of academic activities can be accessed. For students, DPEC has hostels separately for boys and girls where 440 boys and 150 girls can be accommodated. The campus also has a health centre with a first aid facility to make sure all the students are in good health. The college offers five BE courses , which are four-year full-time programmes. Such programmes include BE in Computer Science and Engineering , Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering , and Civil Engineering, as well as Mechanical Engineering . All classes teach materials that should give the student a good theoretical understanding of concepts, but the practical side of the course is stressed as well. Dr Paul’s Engineering College follows a policy of proper admission, the aim of which is to find the right candidates for the engineering programmes the college offers. Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu accept the scores in the relevant entrance tests.
