The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology was a constituent department of IIT-BHU, Varanasi, and was established in the year 1932. This is an institute of great pride that renders diverse pharmaceutical programmes across its 4 degree levels in 10 courses. It has a faculty strength of 20 qualified and dedicated professionals ensuring an extremely very congenial student-to-teacher ratio. The institute is a co-educational platform that offers diversified and inclusive learning to the aspiring pharmacists and researchers who wish to learn and conduct their research in a stimulating environment located at the heart of Varanasi. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology has various modern facilities to enhance the learning process of the students. The library in this college is a treasure house of knowledge and encompasses 4,500 reference books and textbooks, 250 journals, and 650 theses. Besides, students have access to a host of online journals and books by the leading publishers around the clock for an in-depth research study. The department is well equipped with futuristic laboratories for UG, ID, PG, and Research programmes. The college has thus provided internet connectivity as a service round the clock through a properly designed LAN network so that the students become connected and aware. The department provides various courses in pharmaceuticals to meet the different academic ambitions. These are full-time programmes: B.Tech in Pharmacy for 4 years, B.Tech-M.Tech Integrated in Pharmacy for 5 years, M.Pharma with different specialisations for 2 years and Ph.D. programmes. Courses vary at these different levels thus providing options for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
