The Convergence Institute of Media Management and IT Studies COMMONS in Bengaluru is a professional institute for media and communication education. Founded in the year 2001 this co-educational institution is set in the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru, Karnataka. COMMITS is a compact institution covering an area of 3 acres thus offering private learning area to all of its students. The enrolment of the institute is currently 66 students, and while the student- faculty ratio is ideal; the institute has 14 faculty members for the students. COMMITS has two postgraduate programmes, both at the master’s level, for interested professionals in the marketing and management communication, journalism and audio-visual communication departments. From the standpoint of the programmes of study, COMMITS is specifically oriented to the postgraduate degrees in media and communication. At the moment, the institute teaches two two-year master’s degree programmes as full-time courses. These programmes are intended to provide students with post/basic education with the specialised knowledge and skills in their fields of study. The MA in Marketing and Management Communication course will help the students on emerging trends in marketing and corporate communication and the MA in Journalism and Audio Visual Communication is for students, who would like to specialise in different forms of medial.
