Barasat Government Medical College was established in 2010 and is situated in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal and Barasat Government Medical College & Hospital is emerged as one of the budding government medical college in India. This is a government-owned organisation of medical learning and clinical service providers which was founded in 2022. The college is located in a large area of 20.53 acres and is associated with the state medical education system and is NMC recognised. Being a co-educational institution, it enrolling young people interested in medical field and has only one degree programme, the medical degree. The Barasat Government Medical College has extensive facilities which aim in helping students excel in all aspect of there way of life. Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital currently offers one primary course: The sectional or departmental programme of University was Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery ( MBBS ). This full time undergraduate course is of six years duration including a year of compulsory rotating internship and offers a wide range of medical education and training. The college is permitted to admit 100 students for its MBBS course and this has been done to allow the institution uphold a favourable student instructor ratio for the delivery of quality education to students. The entry requirement of Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital conforms to that of other medical schools in India. Its application can be obtained by candidates who sat for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate ( NEET-UG ) a unified test for admission to first Medical Undergraduate course in any approved medical college in the country.
